On September 24, 2013, Kiwanis International posted on its website a nicely written news article on Bob Burlison's KURE2013 ride. To see this article "Motorcycling for Mothers and Babies" just click on Kiwanis International Headlines
On Memorial Day, Bob left the city of La Cañada on a three-month motorcycle trip which took him through all 48 states of the Continental U.S.A. As a member of the Kiwanis Club of La Cañada-AM, his goal was to visit Kiwanis club members from every state. Along the way, he promoted his cause: defeating maternal and neonatal tetanus, which kills thousands of children and mothers in developing countries.
Many Kiwanis Clubs across the nation opened up their homes to Bob. In fact, he received free lodging during 72 nights of his 96-day trip. Bob traveled more than 13,500 miles; a total he hopes will break the current Guinness World Record for a continuous motorcycle trip in one country.
Bob Burlison celebrated the completion of his KURE2013 ride in La Cañada's Memorial Park on Labor Day (see photo below).
